Present Continuous, 2009

photographies, 100 x 70 cm

The photographies were realized during the one-month art residency in a French nursing home in september 2009.
The bedrooms of a nursing home seem all different: some are bigs, some others are small, some are emptier than others, they only usually have in common the same type of bed and window.
The old people who inhabit these rooms give these temporary places their own personality, their intimacy, their personal story.
The photographies give evidence about these stories, about these temporary appropriations that allow them to keep their roots alive, to refocus, in  order not to lose the memory, in order not to lose themselves.
